Lexus Boosts RZ Efficiency with Multiple Updates
Lexus Boosts RZ Efficiency with Multiple Updates Lexus has officially unveiled the updated RZ EV, featuring a range of powertrain upgrades designed to increase power and range, as well as new technologies for enhanced driving pleasure. The Lexus EV platform has been developed, and the entire powertrain has been redesigned.
The standard front-engine RZ350e now produces 224 hp, up from 204 hp, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, with an estimated range of approximately 575 km on a single charge.
The mid-engine RZ500e comes with an additional rear motor, generating a total of 380 hp and propels all-wheel drive from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
This model has an estimated range of 500 km on a single charge. The top-of-the-range RZ550e delivers 407 hp, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and travel approximately 450 km/h on a single charge.
All RZ models are equipped with a 76.96 kWh battery. Improvements have also been made to reduce charging times by up to 30 minutes.
For the first time, a battery temperature setting feature has been introduced before arriving at the charging station to speed up the power delivery process in cold weather.
The updated RZ is also the first Lexus to offer Steer-by-Wire, which provides more precise and easier control in turns while reducing vibrations transmitted from the road surface and using new electrical modules.
The precision of the DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system has been improved to distribute torque to the wheels more precisely.
It can now transfer all torque to the rear axle when needed, taking into account several factors, including vehicle speed and turn angle.
The Lexus RZ also comes with another innovation: the virtual eight-speed transmission, which is activated by a button on the center console.
Here, the car also emits artificial sounds that mimic those produced by internal combustion cars. Electric vehicles represent 52% of the current Lexus lineup.
